After more than a month of the major flood in early November, currently, the vegetable growing fields in La Xa Residential Group, Ha Huy Tap Ward have gradually become greener with herbs such as perilla, basil, cinnamon, Vietnamese soldiers, fish sticks, etc.
Ms. Ho Thi Binh (55 years old, residing in La Xa Residential Group) said that in 2025, vegetable growers in La Xa fields will continuously suffer damage due to natural disasters. Specifically, the impact of storms No. 5 and No. 10 has caused partial damage to the area. In particular, the flood in early November caused flooding in the fields for 6 days, causing all the vegetables here to die.

"My family built 4 sao of land, put in a lot of effort, and when the harvest was about to come, it was flooded and damaged. After the flood receded, the sun warmed, and the soil gradually dried up, we immediately started making the soil to replant the new vegetable crop. However, currently, only more than 2 sao have been replanted due to scarcity of varieties, Ms. Binh shared.
According to Ms. Binh, after the flood, vegetables were scarce, so prices increased. For example, a small bunch of perilla vegetables was previously sold for 3,000 VND but now it has increased to 5,000 VND. Unfortunately, despite high prices, people have just restored production, so there is not a large quantity for sale.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh (66 years old, residing in La Xa Residential Group) is in the same situation. The flood in early November caused more than 1 sao of her herbs to be flooded and killed.
After the flood, she replanted the soil and replanted a new generation of vegetables including perilla, basil, cinnamon, Vietnamese pork floss... Among the types of vegetables replanted, perilla has now grown well. Taking advantage of the high price, Ms. Minh has been selling seedlings to people who want to buy them to plant.

"Hopefully in the coming days, the weather will be warm, the green vegetables will be good and fast to sell and save some money for Tet," Ms. Minh shared.
In Cam Due commune, also the downstream area of Ke Go lake, the flood in early November caused nearly 3,000 houses to be flooded. Accordingly, vegetable gardens and fruit trees of thousands of households were also flooded and damaged.
After the flood, people took advantage of the opportunity to make land, cultivate, and replant new vegetables, first to serve the self-sufficient needs of their families, then sell to earn extra income when demand increases during Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam - Chairman of Cam Due Commune People's Committee - said that after the flood, people in Cam Due Commune are currently focusing on restoring production, replanting vegetable gardens, and raising poultry to serve their lives. People are also taking advantage of the land to sow rice in the 2026 Spring crop.
The leader of Ha Huy Tap Ward People's Committee also informed that in the downstream area of Ke Go Lake, the flood in early November caused deep flooding in some residential areas and fields in the ward, damaging many areas of crops and herbs.
Currently, people have been actively earning land, restoring production, and replanting new vegetable crops to serve the needs, especially the high demand as the Lunar New Year approaches.
