Binh Thuan - A fisherman on a fishing boat fell into the sea and went missing while the boat anchored to avoid the wind near Phu Quy Island.

On the morning of March 18, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Binh Thuan province reported that a fisherman had fallen into the sea and gone missing. The fishing boat with registration number KG 1061 TS, 755 CV capacity, is a trawler, with 15 workers captained by Mr. P.T.T.

While the boat was anchored to avoid the wind in the sea area about 1.5 nautical miles southwest of Phu Quy Island, it was discovered that worker D.D (born in 1986, residing in Kien Giang province) had fallen into the sea and gone missing. Immediately afterwards, the captain of the fishing boat KG 1061 TS mobilized fishing boats operating near the above area to support the search but the missing victim has not been found.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue recommends that the Provincial Border Guard Command continue to monitor and direct Border Guard stations and Squadron 2 to notify boat owners and fishermen operating near the above sea area to coordinate in searching for the missing fishermen.

It is known that the weather in the above area has Northeast winds of level 6, level 7, gusting to level 8; The average waves are 2.5 - 3 m high.
