Faced with the reality that civil infrastructure in the area is still not synchronized, some essential public works have not been invested in or have deteriorated, affecting people's lives and tourism activities, voters in Nhon Chau island commune proposed that Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee repair and upgrade the civil ferry bridge system; invest in a centralized wastewater treatment system; build a boat shelter to serve storm shelter and aquaculture.
Regarding the proposal to "repair and upgrade the civil ferry bridge system", Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that currently the Hai Cang - Nhon Chau inland waterway has a length of about 30km, of which Hai Cang wharf is used jointly with Quy Nhon fishing port; Nhon Chau wharf is used jointly with the provincial Border Guard's dock, currently still meeting the travel needs of people and tourists.
Based on the general planning of Nhon Chau commune to 2045, according to the proposal of the Department of Construction, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee to proactively review the planning, balance the local budget and integrate legal capital sources, as a basis for considering the allocation of public investment capital in 2026 according to regulations.
Regarding the proposal to "invest in a centralized wastewater treatment system", Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that according to regulations on managing drainage and wastewater treatment activities in the province, commune-level People's Committees are responsible for organizing planning, investing in building drainage and wastewater treatment systems and managing projects invested from state budget funds according to decentralization.
Currently, Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee has approved the General Plan of Nhon Chau commune until 2045, in which the centralized wastewater treatment plant is planned with an expected capacity of about 350m3/day and night.
According to the opinion of the Department of Finance, based on the proposals of localities and related units, the Department will summarize and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider adding works to the list of drainage and wastewater treatment projects to call on investors to implement according to regulations.
In case of urgency, the Department of Finance will propose to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and allocate funds according to the budget balance capacity to support investment in building a centralized wastewater treatment system in Nhon Chau commune.
The Department of Construction also believes that the proposal to invest in a centralized wastewater treatment system in Nhon Chau commune to serve the needs of people, tourists and solve environmental problems according to voters' recommendations is appropriate. Therefore, Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee needs to study, review the planning and make investment proposals; send them to relevant departments and agencies in the correct order and procedures.
Regarding the proposal "investing in and building a boat shelter to serve storm shelter and aquaculture", Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to consider, resolve and respond to voters' recommendations according to their authority.
