On March 18, a clip was circulated on social media recording a man riding a motorbike falling at Binh Phuoc roundabout, Thu Duc City, along with information "Traffic police chased a motorbike rider". However, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police verified and confirmed that this information was untrue.
The incident occurred at 5:48 p.m. on March 17 at Binh Phuoc roundabout. The working group of the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team discovered Mr. P.D.T (born in 1984, residing in Binh Dinh) driving a motorbike with signs of being drunk, so they signaled to stop the vehicle. Because he did not control the steering wheel, Mr. T. fell onto the road.

The traffic police quickly helped Mr. T. up and determined that he was not injured. Through inspection, Mr. T. violated the alcohol concentration of 0.794 mg/liter of breath, did not have a driver's license, vehicle registration and could not present CCCD. Mr. T. signed the administrative violation report.
The Traffic Police Department affirmed that the working group had followed the correct procedures and had not caused any violationers to fall. The clip that went viral on social media only recorded one corner, did not fully reflect the incident, caused misunderstanding and created bad public opinion.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that people do not share false and unverified information, affecting the reputation of the authorities.
