On the afternoon of October 31, the headquarters of the People's Committee of Hung Son commune (a mountainous area of Da Nang city) suffered a serious landslide, causing the structure of the project to crack, many items to be severely damaged, and rocks and soil to overflow into the office.

Images recorded at the scene showed the slope behind the headquarters slid deeply, a large area of red soil and forest trees collapsed close to the wall, causing great pressure on the main building. The lobby and ground floor walls are cracked, separated from the foundation, broken bricks are exposed, some railings and steps have sunk. Cracks extend along the columns and walls, showing a local risk of collapse if the rain continues.
Mr. So Lam Buon - Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee said: "Due to prolonged heavy rain over the past few days, Hung Son Commune is currently completely isolated.
Traffic routes downstream to the commune and from the commune to the villages were cut off, many electric poles fell, causing power outages throughout the commune. The water supply system was severely damaged, the network and phone signal were unstable, causing many difficulties for direction and communication.

According to the Quick Report of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue of Hung Son commune, continuous heavy rain has caused the road to Atu 2 village to completely break, the inter-village routes from Cha'noc to Atu 1.2 have heavy landslides; The DH4 route through Arang village continues to be at risk of landslides, causing cracks in the foundation of houses. More than 15 other inter-village roads were also partially cut off.
Some schools in Phat and Abaanh 2 villages were hit by negative landslides, while many residential areas such as Phat, arooi, Ki'noonh, Dam I, Cha' Lang are at high risk of landslides.
Mr. Buon added that before that, the whole commune had evacuated more than 100 households with more than 500 people from the area at risk of landslides and flash floods, so there were no human casualties, people were guaranteed food and drinking water.

Previously, Da Nang City announced a natural disaster emergency in the residential area of arooi village, Hung Son commune. This area is at a high alert level, directly threatening 2 households and affecting more than 13 other households in the same community Gool house.
On-site forces are urgently clearing rocks and soil, initially fixing the situation to gradually reopen traffic. However, the amount of landslides was too large, along with continued rain, making it very difficult to access the commune.
