Verifying information related to pig slaughter control activities in Quang Binh

Quang Binh - A document from the enterprise stated that veterinary staff stamped the slaughter control and collected money for pigs without a license.

On June 9, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Cong Tam - Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Quang Binh province - said that he is working with the enterprise to verify information on pig slaughter control in the area.

Previously, Hai Duong Production and Trading Company Limited sent a document to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Quang Binh province, mentioning a number of issues related to Notice No. 232/TB-CNTY of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Quang Binh province "on the inspection of food safety conditions at Hai Duong I slaughterhouse".

Previously, Hai Duong Company operated in the field of livestock and poultry slaughter and always hoped that the unit as well as the management agencies would properly implement the provisions of the law on "food safety in controlling slaughter" and this required the company to invest a lot of money.

After a period of operation, the company always complied with and voluntarily wrote an application for a food safety license, but in recent years, due to difficulties, the company has stopped operating in this field.

The company said that during the time without a license, officers of the Dong Hoi Agricultural Service Center and Quang Ninh - Dong Hoi Veterinary Center still went to stamp and collect money at the slaughterhouse.

The document stated that the company had reported that some households brought pigs with unusual signs or unknown origins to the kilns. The company had opinions but the veterinary staff still sealed the slaughter control mark. To date, the company has not resolved this issue. Therefore, at present, there is a situation where some households still bring pigs to slaughter but have nothing to do with the company.
