On July 17, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that a traffic accident between a passenger car and a motorbike had just occurred in Hai Linh ward, killing a 2-year-old child.
According to initial information, the accident occurred at about 10:58 am on the same day, at Km 362+800, National Highway 1, passing through Hai Linh ward, Thanh Hoa province.
At the above time, a passenger car with license plate 34H-036. xx driven by Mr. P.Q. L. (born in 1979, residing in Thanh Mien commune, Hai Phong city) was reversing on National Highway 1.
During the reversing process, the passenger car collided with a motorbike with license plate 36C1-481. xx driven by Ms. N.T. P. (born in 2001, residing in Tan Dan ward, Thanh Hoa province), carrying her daughter, baby L.N. Y. (born in 2024), moving near the back of the passenger car.
The accident injured Ms. N.T. P., who was taken to the emergency room. Baby L.N. Y. died at the hospital.
According to initial assessments by functional agencies, the cause of the accident was that the passenger car driver reversed but did not pay attention to observation.
Currently, the accident is being further investigated, clarified and handled according to regulations by functional forces.
