After only 2 years, the Saigon Riverside Area of Thu Thiem Peninsula (Thu Duc City) has "changed its skin", from a wild strip of land to Saigon Riverside Park of nearly 20 hectares - the largest riverside park in Ho Chi Minh City. This project, inaugurated at the end of December 2023, is becoming an attractive destination, bringing a cool and modern green space to the city's residents.
Two years ago, the Thu Thiem River bank, stretching from Ba Son Bridge to the Thu Thiem tunnel, was still just a narrow, narrow road, full of weeds, weeds and unfinished works peeling over time.

However, now, standing on the edge of District 1 looking at Thu Thiem, many people are surprised by the miraculous change. The riverbank is now decorated with many types of flowers, miniatures... along with lush green grass and clean walking paths that will stretch close to the water's edge. The tree-lined walking path, combined with sparkling lights at night, has turned this place into an ideal relaxation space.
Saigon Riverside Park is planned with 13 diverse main items, serving the living, entertainment and recreation needs of the community. These include multi-purpose community campuses and living grounds, brilliant sunflower fields, unique aquatic floating raft chains, stone parks, and fountains. In particular, the LED screen system installed not only serves entertainment but also combines advertising, creating a dynamic, modern look.
The park space is designed in harmony, friendly to nature and the environment. More than 200 trees of all kinds, large grass, and countless miniatures have been arranged appropriately. The completed system of walking paths, seats, and artistic lighting has turned the previously abandoned sections along the river into a familiar gathering place, "check-in" for young people every afternoon.
"Along the banks of the Thu Thiem River, the changes are now very fast. From the wild and deserted land, now in the late afternoon it is very bustling with many exciting entertainment and recreation activities, said Ms. Cam Huong (residing in Thu Duc City).
One of the major highlights of this area is the Thu Thiem Creative Cultural Center. The project with open, modern architecture is not only a new symbol but also an ideal space to organize cultural events, exhibitions, and small-scale art performances, imbued with the spirit of youth creativity.
The space around the center is flexibly designed into a small square and an open stage on the river. From here, people and tourists can admire the entire view of District 1's banks with high-rise buildings, large hotels and modern urban symbols, creating a vivid and vibrant picture for the city named after Uncle Ho.
