In 2024, trade unions at all levels of Bac Giang province focused on dialogue, negotiation, signing and amending and supplementing collective labor agreements (CLAs) to bring more benefits to union members and workers.

Sign an agreement with more beneficial content for workers

Currently, in Yen Dung district, there are 62 enterprises operating in production and business with 6,849 employees (of which 4,722 are female); 6,467 union members (of which 4,613 are female). The average income of employees is over 8 million VND/person/month.

In recent years, the Standing Committee of the Yen Dung District Labor Federation has focused on directing and guiding enterprise-based trade unions to regularly synthesize opinions of union members and employees, proactively propose to employers to organize dialogues to negotiate, sign and amend and supplement the Collective Labor Agreement with more beneficial contents for employees...

To date, 55/62 enterprises with trade unions have organized periodic dialogues at the workplace and organized collective bargaining and signed collective labor agreements (reaching 88.7%); of which 55 enterprises have type A collective labor agreements, 7 enterprises have type B collective labor agreements. The collective labor agreements have many provisions higher than the law's provisions for employees, suitable to the capabilities and conditions of the enterprises.

Mr. Hoang Trong Dong - Chairman of the Yen Dung District Labor Federation - said that the collective labor agreements with many beneficial contents for employees have made employees happy, excited, and secure in their work, built harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises, limited disputes, collective work stoppages, strikes, and work stoppages; the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees are protected, the role and position of the Trade Union organization is enhanced; awareness of compliance with labor laws for employees and employers is increasingly high, promoting the spirit of democracy in enterprises, and encouraging creativity of employees.

Dialogue to promptly resolve issues of concern to employees

In industrial parks in Bac Giang province, in 2024, 195 enterprises built grassroots democracy regulations and 198 enterprises organized periodic dialogues at the workplace.

During the dialogues, union members and employees raised 720 issues for employers to consider and resolve. The main contents were related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees; to improving working conditions, enhancing welfare regimes, improving the material and spiritual life of union members and employees; amending and supplementing the Collective Labor Agreement...

A typical example is the dialogue at a company located in an industrial park. After receiving information from officials, union members, and workers, and through activities to grasp the situation of the enterprise, the provincial industrial park trade union promptly directed the company trade union to coordinate with the enterprise's management board to organize a dialogue conference between the employer and more than 100 workers representing 1,800 employees in the company.

The dialogue focused on 6 main groups of issues: including salary, annual leave, attendance allowance, labor protection equipment, labor safety and workers' living conditions. The opinions, recommendations, proposals and issues of concern to union members and workers were answered and explained by the representative of the company's Board of Directors. Through this dialogue, labor relations in the enterprise have been improved, avoiding strikes and work stoppages.

According to Mr. Ha Minh Vi, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks in Bac Giang province, in order for dialogues at the workplace to take place successfully, bring about practical results, and promote the role of the Trade Union organization in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, the role of grassroots trade union officials plays a very important role, especially in areas with complex labor relations, with a large concentration of enterprises and workers such as in the province's industrial parks.

In 2024, the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor directed trade unions at all levels to improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining to bring many benefits to union members and workers; 717/717 (100%) of enterprises organized dialogue at the workplace; 616/717 (85.9%) of enterprise-level trade unions conducted collective bargaining and signed collective labor agreements, of which 65 enterprises signed new collective labor agreements.
