On the afternoon of November 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation had a working session, exchanging and sharing experiences in trade union activities with the delegation of the Shanghai City General Confederation of Labor, China.
Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - informed about some situations of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization since implementing the work of arranging administrative units according to the two-level local government model and introduced some highlights in the activities of the labor movement and the activities of the city Trade Union.
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation is currently managing more than 21,000 grassroots unions with nearly 2.2 million union members. With the number of grassroots trade unions and union members accounting for about 25% of the country, the labor movement and trade union activities of Ho Chi Minh City have always been given special attention and direction by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the City Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
On that basis, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has focused on leading, directing and implementing many programs to effectively perform the function of representing and protecting legitimate and legal rights and interests and caring for union members and workers, as well as propagating, educating, and disseminating the Party's policies, the State's laws, and regulations of the trade union organization to gather and attract workers to the trade union organization.

Mr. Wang Houfu - Party Secretary of Shanghai Vocational College, Head of the delegation of the Shanghai City General Confederation of Labor - expressed his gratitude for the respectful and sincere reception of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation. At the same time, it affirmed the deep relationship between the General Confederation of Labor of China and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as well as the Shanghai City General Confederation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City General Confederation of Labor.
Mr. Wang Houfu said that trade union activities in Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai as well as the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the China General Confederation of Labor have many similarities, so sharing experiences will help trade union activities between the two sides develop more and more.
At the meeting, the two sides shared many experiences in trade union activities in gathering, attracting union members and representatives to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests and care for union members and workers.
