The fiber in amaranth helps prolong the feeling of fullness, thereby limiting snacking between meals, an important factor in weight loss.

To make amaranth effective in weight loss, the preparation method is very important. Steaming or boiling amaranth will retain high nutritional content and limit the addition of fat, helping to reduce excess calories.

Amaranth should be prepared simply, avoiding stir-frying with oil or processing into dishes with many spices to avoid increasing calories.
