On the afternoon of December 18, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province held an online conference to press the button to deploy the camera system to monitor and handle violations of road traffic order and safety in Kien Giang province.
In 2021, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province approved the Investment Project to build safe smart urban subsystems and the Provincial Police Operation and Monitoring Center. A total of 353 cameras serve the work of ensuring security and order, including 36 cameras installed at many traffic monitoring locations in the province to detect violations of traffic order and safety and a software system to handle violations of road traffic order and safety.
Up to now, the Provincial Police have completed and put into use the camera system to handle violations of road traffic safety and order. This is one of the breakthrough solutions, suitable for the practical situation of the industrial revolution 4.0.
To effectively deploy the camera system, Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee - requested leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, People's Committees of districts and cities to focus on seriously implementing the conclusions and directives of the Government, Prime Minister, National Traffic Safety Committee, and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on implementing policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety.
At the same time, strengthen the propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on traffic safety and order, always considering this a key and strategic task to raise awareness and sense of law compliance among the people. Thereby, gradually control and reduce traffic accidents and prevent traffic congestion, especially widely propagating and announcing the deployment of the camera system in the province for people to understand and implement.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to organize the management, operation, maintenance, and effective use of the camera system in accordance with the law, in the spirit of "handling violations without forbidden areas or exceptions".
The Department of Transport and the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns continue to review, repair and supplement technical infrastructure (lines, signs, traffic lights...) on the roads to ensure synchronization with the implementation of fines for violations through the camera surveillance system.
The deployment of the camera system will contribute to improving the effectiveness of ensuring traffic order and safety. Timely detecting and handling violations, reducing the number of cases, deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents in the coming time. In addition, it also contributes to raising awareness of traffic law compliance, helping people to self-regulate their behavior, creating a safe and healthy living environment for the community.
