Cao Bang province is located in the Northeast region of Vietnam, with more than 333km of border bordering Guangxi province (China) with many international border gates and openings, facilitating trade, economic cooperation and attracting investment.
The province has identified four strategic pillars for economic development: eco-cultural - historical tourism; agriculture with a focus on medicinal herbs and local specialties; border gate economy, border trade - logistics; and mining industry.
In recent times, Cao Bang has proactively implemented investment promotion activities, gradually turning potential into a real driving force for development.


On July 23, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa led a working delegation with Sun Group, calling for investment in key tourist areas, notably Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area - a special destination in the core area of UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.
On July 30, speaking with reporters, a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province - said that Sun Group will soon send a team to conduct a field survey to assess investment capacity.
Also on the day, Secretary of the Quang Li Provincial Party Committee Minh Cuong received and worked with the Pacific Construction Group (China), proposing cooperation in the fields of: transport infrastructure, smart cities, renewable energy and digital technology.

Cao Bang also expressed its desire to learn from urban management experience and access ODA capital and non-refundable aid.
Previously, on July 21, Guangxi Investment Group (China) worked with Cao Bang province to propose exploring bauxite reserves. After the meeting with provincial leaders, the group continued to have in-depth discussions with relevant departments and branches on the legal framework, licensing process and environmental and technical issues.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Cao Bang's total import-export turnover reached nearly 842 million USD, an increase of more than 66% over the same period. Budget revenue reached VND 2,394 billion, exceeding the estimate by 15%.

The province has 74 newly established enterprises, with a total registered capital of VND 293 billion; economic growth reached 6.56%. In the first 6 months of the year, tourists to Cao Bang are estimated at 1,520,063, up 47.7% over the same period, reaching 60.8% of the annual plan. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,543 billion VND, tourism activities are bringing many jobs to local labor forces.
Despite achieving positive results, to develop more sustainably, the leaders of Cao Bang province are still looking for many investment resources, better exploiting the inherent strengths of the locality.
In particular, Ban Gioc waterfall area has long enjoyed majestic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, unique indigenous cultures and a year-round, temperate climate.
This is a very potential land for developing eco-tourism, community tourism, adventure tourism and local cultural experiences.
A representative of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province affirmed that the locality is promoting the improvement of the investment environment, creating the most favorable conditions when strategic investors come to the area.
