Ho Chi Minh City joins hands to support people affected by storms and floods

HCMC - On the afternoon of October 13, agencies, businesses and individuals registered to contribute and support people affected by storms and floods with more than 6 billion VND.

At the reception to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods on the afternoon of October 13, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that at the reception this afternoon, 30 units, businesses, organizations and individuals registered and donated with a total amount of money and goods of VND 6,005,752,252.

The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City respectfully thanked the precious feelings of individuals, groups, and businesses, especially students, for their compatriots affected by storms and floods.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to closely coordinate with the Relief Mobilization Committees of localities to provide timely and most effective support to people facing difficulties due to storms and floods.

Previously, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee spent 67.28 billion VND in support.

Of which, support 56 households affected by storms in Ho Chi Minh City, worth 280 million VND; transfer 67 billion VND to support people affected by floods in Nghe An, Dong Thap, Dien Bien, Son La, Ha Tinh Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces.

The unit organized delegations to visit, encourage and support people affected by storms and floods in the Northern and North Central provinces on September 19-20, September 6-7, and expected October 15-16 (in Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh).
