The direction of Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to resolutely complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services before July 24 and for all groups of people before August 31, 2025 is a vivid testament to that spirit, affection and morality, as well as the aspiration for inclusive development, leaving no one behind.
Each new roof is given to people with revolutionary contributions, to the relatives of martyrs, not only to avoid rain and sun, but also to affirm to the previous generation that the country has never forgotten them.
Under the strong direction of the Government, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide has made rapid progress: From the goal of completion by 2030, withdrawing to 2025, then continuing to withdraw to October 31, 2025 and now to August 31, 2025, in which priority is given to completing housing support for meritorious people before July 27, 2025, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
Time is getting shorter, but determination is getting higher and higher, demonstrating a synchronous effort of the entire political system, from the central to local levels, from the state budget to the solidarity of the community.
Up to this point, the whole country has completed more than 264,000 houses, of which nearly 230,000 have been inaugurated and only more than 25,000 are still under construction.
It is worth mentioning that localities that have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses early are all places with the drastic participation of the Provincial Secretary and Chairman, considering this a key political task, not a pure social program.
But more deeply, that achievement does not only come from financial resources, but from humanity and the spirit of national solidarity widely promoted - as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh declared: "Whoever has something helps others, whoever has merits helps others, whoever has property helps others".
Of course, it is impossible not to mention the role of the armed forces, the Fatherland Front, the Trade Union, the Youth Union, the Women's Union, the Veterans Association, etc., organizations that are ready to go to the grassroots, contribute and contribute to completing the houses named "grate".
All are proof that a State not only cares for people to have food but also cares for people to have decent housing. Therefore, the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is not only the result of a successful social security policy, but also a beautiful image of a humane, substantial and action-oriented government.
Every temporary house, a dilapidated house for people with meritorious services that was erased before July 27 this year is a work of faith, a symbol of the return to morality, with the responsibility of today's generation for those who sacrificed for the country yesterday.
