Ms. Pham Thi Hue (born in 1993, residing in block 17, Hoang Mai ward, Nghe An province) was originally a girl full of willpower. After graduating from university, she worked in an office at a company in Binh Duong. There, she met her husband from the same hometown, got married and stayed in the South to start a business.
In 2017, great joy came to Ms. Hue's family when she gave birth to her first son. That happiness was multiplied when she became pregnant for the 2nd time in 2021. However, the 2nd pregnancy was also when abnormal signs appeared. "At that time, I kept coughing, thinking it was coughing up hair (a common phenomenon during pregnancy), plus the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, so I couldn't go for an examination," Ms. Hue recounted.
After giving birth to my second child for 5 months, the cough still did not subside. "I took cough medicine but it didn't help at all, on the contrary, I also felt short of breath and coughed up blood. By then, I went for an examination, but it took 4-5 months to find out the disease," Ms. Hue said choked up.
The examination results brought bad news, she suffered from end-stage left root lung bronchial cancer. The bad news was like a thunderbolt in broad daylight, the whole family was shocked.

Her husband, with a meager income from selling goods, has to both take care of his elderly mother and raise 2 young children. Ms. Hue is sick and unable to do anything, having to move continuously between her hometown and K Tan Trieu Hospital (Hanoi) for treatment and to maintain her life.
Currently, Ms. Hue has completed 30 radiation therapy sessions and is continuing periodic treatment 21 days/time at Tan Trieu K Hospital. Each chemotherapy session under insurance costs about 2 - 3 million VND. However, after 4 years of fighting cancer, her family's economy has almost run out, so this is still a significant expense.
Previously, my husband and I saved up for 3 years, then borrowed more to build a level 4 house. But just after building, the debt had not been paid when I was diagnosed with cancer, making the debt burden even heavier.
My family still owes about 400 million VND, of which 200 million VND is borrowed for treatment. My husband has low income, has to support his elderly mother and two children, and also takes care of medicine for me, so daily living expenses are already a burden.
The doctor said there is a type of chemical (immune medicine) with a cost of more than 100 million VND per time. Before, the doctor advised me to use the type of 16 - 18 million VND, but I didn't have money. I only dare to use chemicals under insurance, each time about 2 - 3 million VND.
Since my second child was 6 months old, I have had to leave my child, my child has had to stop breastfeeding. Now I just hope to have money to continue treatment with insurance drugs, to live a little longer, to compensate for my child," Ms. Hue choked up sharing.
Speaking about Ms. Hue's situation, Ms. Mai Thi Ket - Head of the Women's Union of Block 17, Hoang Mai ward - said: "Hue's situation is very difficult, suffering from cancer for several years now, her husband's income cannot afford living expenses and medicine. Children lack the warmth of their mother, especially the second child, because Hue is sick and goes to the hospital all the time. I hope philanthropists, benefactors and the community near and far will pay attention and help so that Hue can have conditions to continue treatment.
