The latest typhoon forecast from the Hong Kong Meteorological Agency (China) said that Typhoon No. 6 Trami in the eastern Philippines is likely to upgrade to a severe tropical storm on October 22 and become stronger into a typhoon on October 25.
It is forecasted that when Typhoon Trami heads towards the center of the East Sea, the storm will be about 800km from Hong Kong (China). By the afternoon of October 26, Typhoon Trami is likely to approach Hong Kong (China) closest, at a distance of 400km and downgrade to a severe tropical storm.
However, the Hong Kong (China) Weather Forecast Agency noted that there are still many uncertainties about the next path of Typhoon Trami. The possibility of "the storm entering the northeastern part of the East Sea will be higher", the agency's bulletin stated.
Regarding the forecast track of Typhoon Trami, the Hong Kong Meteorological Agency (China) said that there is a possibility that the latest typhoon in the East Sea will move westward to the central and northern part of the East Sea, or another scenario is that the typhoon will move northwestward, closer to China's southern coast.
In addition to Typhoon Trami, the northeast monsoon is sweeping south of China on October 22. Therefore, the weather in the entire region in the next few days is forecast to be significantly cooler in the morning and at night.
The Philippine weather agency PAGASA expects Typhoon Trami to strengthen into a typhoon when it enters the East Sea. From there, Typhoon Trami may move towards the central region of Vietnam or closer to the southern coast of China.
According to The Standard Channel, the northeast monsoon is forecast to intensify in southern China this weekend. Under the combined impact of the northeast monsoon and tropical storm, wind and showers are expected in the northern East Sea and the southern coast of China this weekend and early next week.
Meanwhile, the latest typhoon report from Taiwan News said that Typhoon Trami is expected to affect Taiwan (China) weather from October 24.
The CWA warned that the outer circulation of Typhoon Trami could approach Taiwan (China) on October 24 and 25. The impact of Typhoon Trami combined with the northeast monsoon could cause heavy rain in the north and east of the island.
The CWA forecasts Trami to move west toward the South China Sea, but the path of the latest storm formed from a tropical depression near the Philippines remains uncertain. The CWA said Trami could strengthen into a typhoon or stronger.
The CWA weather bulletin also said that in addition to the storm in the East Sea Trami, the northeast monsoon will strengthen from the afternoon of October 22 to October 23, causing rain in the northern coastal area of Keelung, mountainous areas of the Keelung - Taipei urban area and Yilan County, Taiwan (China).
