Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and the coaching staff of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team decided to give the opportunity to compete in the 33rd SEA Games to middle blocker Le Nhu Anh thanks to her good performance in the training period at the moment. She replaced her teammate Nguyen Thi Trinh to be on the official list of 14 players going to Thailand to compete.
According to Lao Dong's research, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet chose Le Nhu Anh after evaluating that this player met the requirements for the training session in Quang Ninh and Vinh Long at this time.
This year, Nhu Anh is the face of the main squad competing for the 2025 national championship with VTV Binh Dien Long An. She also won the runner-up position in the AVC Champions League 2025 with VTV Binh Dien Long An team.
In early 2025, Le Nhu Anh was called up to the U21 Women's Volleyball Team and competed in the U21 World Championship in Indonesia.
After the second phase of the 2025 National Championship, Le Nhu Anh was focused on the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that this player was registered as a card to compete in the 33rd SEA Games, so the choice to replace Nguyen Thi Trinh is still in accordance with the regulations of the Organizing Committee.
The Vietnam women's volleyball team has 21 players currently training in Vinh Long. Mr. Kiet also shared with the media that the players will practice until December 7.
After that, the 14 official athletes will go to Thailand to participate in the 33rd SEA Games on December 8 and the remaining athletes will return to their home team.
The women's volleyball ( indoor) event of the 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 10 to December 15 in Bangkok (Thailand). The Vietnam women's volleyball team is the current runner-up.
