Half a year ago, Nguyen Quoc won a medal when participating in SEA Games 33 in Thailand.
After half a year, the male athlete from Da Nang continued to compete at his familiar location to win a gold medal and break the Asian youth record.
Competing in the men's 400m freestyle final (age group 17-18), Tran Van Nguyen Quoc reached the finish line first to win a gold medal with a result of 3 minutes 52 seconds 25.
This achievement broke the 2009 record of athlete Alexander Ivanov (Kazakhstan) of 3 minutes 53 seconds 25.
This is one of Nguyen Quoc's important achievements when breaking the Asian youth record.
Also on the evening of the final competition at the tournament, young female face Nguyen Thuy Hien won a gold medal in the 100m butterfly event (age group 17-18).
Thuy Hien finished first with a time of 1 minute 02 seconds 01. This is a much-efforted achievement of this female athlete.

In addition, the Vietnamese swimming team won the 3rd gold medal thanks to the championship result in the men's 400m freestyle event (age group 13-14) of Phan Quoc Khanh. This young face has a time of 4 minutes 05 seconds 71.
On the first day of the tournament, in addition to 3 gold medals, the Vietnamese swimming team also won 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals in the events they competed in.
