The 2025 National Shooting Championship will officially compete at the National Shooting range from September 21. The tournament opening ceremony took place on the evening of September 22.
This year, the tournament attracted 120 female shooters and 136 male shooters from 13 units to compete. A representative of the Vietnam Shooting Team's Coaching Board said: "The team's shooters were allowed to return to their units to compete in the tournament. The national championship is the highest professional competition, so each result will be the basis for us to choose the best shooter to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Shooter Pham Quang Huy (Hai Phong) won the championship in the men's 50m handball shot. Quang Huy reached 555 points to rank No. 1. Ranked second is Nguyen Hoang Phuong (Army) while shooter and coach Tran Quoc Cuong (Hai Phong) has 3rd place.
In the women's 10m air rifle shooting event, Olympic athlete Le Thi Mong Tuyen (Ho Chi Minh City) only won a bronze medal. The gold medal went to shooter Nguyen Thi Thao (Quang Ninh) and the runner-up was Nguyen Khanh Linh (Hai Phong). In this year's tournament, the number 1 shooter of Vietnamese shooting, Trinh Thu Vinh (People's Police) will participate in the women's 10m air revolver and women's 25m sports revolver events.
Currently, the Vietnam Shooting Team will carefully calculate the force to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games after the 2025 National Championship. In October, key shooters will participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship.
