Senate President Mohamed Ould Errachid warmly welcomed and appreciated the important significance of the official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
Expressing his affection for Vietnam, considering it a close friend, the President of the Morocco Senate assessed the Vietnam-Morocco relationship as a relationship that has been tested throughout history, continuously developing well in many fields, especially people-to-people exchanges.
The President of the Mar offese Senate said that Vietnam and Morocco have written common pages of history, building a loyal relationship between the two countries' National Assembly and people with a deep foundation after nearly 65 years of establishing diplomatic relations. mutual help and support in the process of national liberation struggle and symbols such as the Morocco Gate in Vietnam and the Vietnamese Gate in Morocco are precious heritages of the two peoples.
The Marokese Senate is ready to coordinate with the House of Representatives to promote cooperation with the Vietnamese National Assembly, especially at international inter-parliamentary forums in development agenda programs to jointly build mutually beneficial partnerships for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
On that basis, President of the Senate Mohamed Ould Errachid suggested that the two sides actively build joint projects within the framework of South-South cooperation, especially sustainable development projects in Africa, taking advantage of their strategic position as a gateway for each other to develop relations in each region.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized the goal of the visit to further strengthen and enhance the good cooperative relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries, creating momentum to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Appreciating the position of Morocco in North Africa, with free trade agreements with more than 50 countries, an ideal bridge for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the African and European markets, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two sides study negotiating a new trade agreement to replace the agreement signed in 2001, remove tariff barriers to facilitate goods from the two countries to access each other's markets, enhance trade promotion activities, organize fairs, exhibitions... to increase bilateral trade turnover that is still modest.
The National Assembly Chairman of Vietnam also suggested that the two sides promote cooperation in the fields of finance and banking, build a transparent and efficient payment mechanism to minimize risks in international payments, and suggested that Morocco share experiences with Vietnam in developing international financial centers. The two sides also agreed to encourage two-way investment in sectors such as high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, food processing, and the establishment of transparent information channels on market demand and trade policies to support businesses on both sides to access business opportunities.
