Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that the working trip of the National Assembly Chairman is of great significance both bilaterally and multilaterally.
From a bilateral perspective, this is the first overseas trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Switzerland, with an official visit to Morocco and Senegal. For Morocco, this is the first official visit of a key Vietnamese leader in 6 years and for Senegalese has been since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
The working trip of the National Assembly Chairman will contribute to further strengthening and enhancing the good and mutually beneficial friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland; promoting cooperation between Vietnam and the African and European regions. At the same time, according to Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang, the working trip is also an opportunity for Vietnam to diversify economic and trade cooperation, promote cooperation in many fields, including parliamentary cooperation with partners Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland, maximize international resources to serve the country's development goals in the era of national growth, enhance the image and position of Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese National Assembly in the international arena".
The working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will contribute to strongly affirming the country's policies and great efforts in economic and social development, promoting multilateralism, creating motivation for demonstrating Vietnam's role as a responsible member, actively and substantially contributing to the activities of IPU and the United Nations, promoting parliamentary relations and cooperation with countries and international organizations, promoting the role and position of Vietnam and the Vietnamese National Assembly in the international arena.

According to Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnam has had good cooperative relations with the countries of Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland for decades. For Senegalese, the visit of the National Assembly Chairman will create momentum to promote the development of bilateral relations more substantially, especially in the economic field and in multilateral mechanisms, especially where Senegalese play a core role, as well as the relationship between the two National Assemblies.
For Morocco, the visit of the National Assembly Chairman will create a strong motivation for the two sides to continue promoting cooperation, especially in trade, investment, agriculture and tourism, towards the goal of reaching 500 million USD in bilateral trade turnover in the coming years. In January 2025, Vietnam - Switzerland agreed to establish a Comprehensive Partnership. On that basis, Vietnam and Switzerland will increase exchanges of high-level and all-level delegations; coordinate to accelerate the negotiation process of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and EFTA, and continue to expand cooperation in various fields.
