A series of serious landslides on key mountain passes such as Khanh Le, Prenn, D'ran, Mimosa... disrupted traffic and poses many potential safety risks.
At Prenn Pass on National Highway 20 - the main gateway connecting Da Lat, a landslide on the negative slope caused half of the roadbed to subside on November 17, 2025, paralyzing traffic through the route. Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 2193/QD-UBND, declaring a natural disaster emergency for the section Km224+600 - Km224+700 to respond.
Receiving a request from the Traffic Project Management Board No. 1 of Lam Dong province, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company (DCC) has invited leading experts to survey and assess the level of landslides to have a plan to support handling and overcoming.

According to initial assessments, the continuous and prolonged heavy rain with a large amount of water flow caused erosion of the retaining wall foundation, collapsed the retaining wall and broke nearly half of the Prenn Pass road at Km224+650. This is a steep location with complex geological foundations and is continuing to be at risk of landslides due to bad weather.
At the technical meeting after the survey, DCC agreed to support the province in urgent tasks including installing fences, traffic safety warning signs, and forcing steel plate piles through dangerous landslides to create temporary traffic conditions. At the same time, the unit coordinated traffic regulation, survey and develop a long-term stable design plan for Lam Dong province's competent authorities to consider, apply and implement.

Mr. Pham Van Hung - General Director of DCC said that the most important and urgent goal is to open the route to serve the people, without needing to consider the cost.
On November 24, the work of handling road markers, corrugated iron fences and installing signs was completed and the working group of Lam Dong province inspected and agreed on the afternoon of November 25 to allow vehicles to circulate again on Prenn Pass, except for trucks that continue to be restricted to ensure safety during the incident handling period.
Implementing the direction of the Government Steering Committee, Ho Quoc Dung requested Deo Ca Group to support the locality to promptly repair landslides as quickly as possible, engineers and workers were on site, working day and night to complete the forced excavation and erect a fence system and warning signs, making every effort to serve people traveling, said Mr. Hung.
Lam Dong province still has two landslides on Mimosa Pass and D'ran Pass on National Highway 20. The first point on Mimosa Pass is expected to reopen to traffic on November 30. The locality has organized traffic flow and organization along National Highway 20, National Highway 27 and Provincial Road 725. The landslide on D'ran Pass is also expected to open to traffic on November 25.
In addition, there are some congestion locations in Lac Duong commune and Lam Vien ward on National Highway 27C. The road is expected to be opened to traffic on November 25.
Previously, on November 21, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung also directly inspected the site at Prenn and Mimosa Pass and requested the authorities and contractors to mobilize maximum forces and equipment to ensure the safe operation of the route as soon as possible.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that overcoming incidents and restoring traffic is a top priority task, especially in the context of Da Lat entering the peak tourism season at the end of the year.
Prolonged heavy rain caused landslides on many pass routes connecting Lam Dong, at times causing complete disruption. The province's announcement of an emergency situation and urgent support such as Deo Ca and some other units is a necessary solution to ensure traffic, safety for people and maintain local socio-economic activities.
The Prenn Pass upgrade and expansion project started construction on February 10, 2023, and was opened to traffic in January 2024.
On July 26, 2024, the investor accepted the project and was approved by the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province (now the Department of Construction) for the results of the acceptance to put the project into operation and use in Notice No. 659/TB-SGTVT dated September 30, 2024. According to the contract signed between the Investor and the construction contractor, the warranty period is 12 months, the warranty period expires on July 26, 2025.
In the working minutes dated November 18, 2025 between the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1, the Construction Contractor consortium, and the Design Consulting unit, the parties agreed on the warranty expiration date as July 26, 2025.
