On November 1, Kim Ngan Commune Police (Quang Tri Province) said that the authorities had just found a person who had lost contact while picking up bamboo shoots.
According to initial information, at around 8:00 p.m. on October 31, Kim Ngan Commune Police received a report that Ms. Ho Thi Mot (born in 1986, residing in Mit Cat village, Kim Ngan commune) had gone to pick bamboo shoots since 6am but had not returned by evening.
Immediately afterwards, the Commune Police directed the establishment of 5 working groups to coordinate with the Border Guard, Military, Forest Protection and local people to urgently go to the forest to search.
For 12 hours, the forces crossed the forest, crossed the stream, and searched all night in conditions of very heavy rain, rising flood waters, and many landslides that cut off traffic.
At around 8:00 a.m. on November 1, the authorities discovered Ms. Ho Thi on the bank of a stream along the Long Dai River (through Mit Cat village) in basically stable health.
Currently, the authorities are supporting Ms. A to cross the river safely, transfer her to a medical facility for check-ups and health care.
