On March 5, information from Ben Tre Provincial Police said that the Economic Police Department of Ben Tre Provincial Police had just coordinated with the Military Joint Stock Commercial Bank - Ben Tre Provincial Branch (MB Bank) to hand over 1.4 billion VND to Mr. N.T.P.V, (23 years old, residing in Ward 7, Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province) who mistakenly transferred money through his bank account.
Previously, on January 21, the Economic Police Department of Ben Tre Provincial Police received a report from Mr. N.T.P.V about mistakenly transferring 1.4 billion VND from his registered account at a bank in Ben Tre city to another person's account opened at MB Bank.
Through the investigation process, using specialized measures, the Economic Police Department of Ben Tre Provincial Police and MB Bank quickly identified the identity of the account owner for whom Mr. N.T.P.V had mistakenly transferred money; handed over the entire amount of 1.4 billion VND to Mr. N.T.P.V.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. N.T.P.V expressed his deep gratitude to the Economic Police Department of Ben Tre Province and MB Bank for actively helping him get the money transferred by mistake.
Through the above incident, the authorities recommend that organizations and individuals when participating in money transfer transactions on bank accounts need to carefully check the recipient information and transaction amount, to avoid unfortunate incidents.
