On April 24, in Nam Xe commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province, the working delegation led by Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security and leaders of the professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security presented funds to support Lai Chau province in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people in mountainous areas.
According to the report, Lai Chau province currently has 7,064 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 5,831 houses need to be rebuilt and 1,233 houses need to be repaired. To date, the province has implemented 4,782 units, reaching 67.7% of the plan, with a total mobilized budget of more than 277 billion VND.
Of which, the Ministry of Public Security supported the construction of 1,100 houses with a budget of 66 billion VND from the mobilization of benefactors. Lai Chau Provincial Police also contributed 110 houses, equivalent to 7.7 billion VND.

From 2021 to present, the Ministry of Public Security has effectively implemented many projects to support the elimination of temporary houses in Lai Chau such as Project 245 and Project 645, with a total of 1,662 houses supported in Muong Te and Phong Tho districts. In 2025 alone, the Ministry will continue to support 1,100 more units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - emphasized: "In addition to eliminating temporary houses, the Ministry also pays attention to building schools, improving living and learning conditions for children".
To ensure the goal of Lai Chau province no longer having temporary or dilapidated houses by June 25, 2025, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee launched 70 peak days.
