The Tra Linh Border Gate Infrastructure Project (resettlement area and traffic system) was approved by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province under Decision No. 1833/QD-UBND dated December 9, 2022, belonging to Group B, with a total investment after adjustment of more than 156 billion VND.
The Cao Bang Economic Zone Management Board is the investor. This is a key project to complete the border gate infrastructure, serve the development of the border gate economy and connect the border area with the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway in the future.

According to the reporter's investigation, on October 20, 2025, the Cao Bang Economic Zone Management Board issued a notice to invite bids for the package "Construction of a route connecting the transit area with Tra Linh border gate (completion of the remaining 400m) and the main axis of the transit area".
The construction package, widely bidding online, is worth more than VND34.5 billion, using the central budget. The estimated implementation period of the package is 40 days.
Previously, the Tra Linh Border Gate Infrastructure Project was implemented in two packages including: Construction of PK3, PK5 routes and road surface from Deck 12 to N7 of the expanded National Highway 34; along with the construction package, procurement and installation of equipment for the resettlement area and the route connecting the transit area with the border gate.

According to records, site clearance for the project has basically been completed, with 74 households agreeing to relocate and hand over the site to speed up the construction progress.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Ly Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Cao Bang Economic Zone - said that the investment in the construction of the main axis road and the route connecting the transit area is of special importance.
The project will meet the requirements of goods transportation and complete the transport infrastructure system of the border gate area according to the approved plan.
After completion, the route will connect from Na Doan opening to the ICD cargo transit area and dry port, and is ready to connect with the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, expected to complete phase II to Tra Linh border gate in 2028.

When the project is completed and put into operation, the synchronous transportation system will facilitate the import and export of goods through Tra Linh border gate, promoting trade.
At the same time, it will expand opportunities to attract investment in developing logistics infrastructure in border gate areas such as transit areas, export processing zones and ICD dry ports.
This is considered an important step in completing the infrastructure of the cargo transit area, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, improving people's lives and creating new momentum for the sustainable development of Cao Bang province in the coming period.
