In about a week, the 2 fish rafts of Mr. Vo Phi Hoai's household in Phu Nhon hamlet, Chau Thanh commune (Can Tho city) will be sold. Suddenly, at 5:00 a.m. on October 31, a series of dead fish floated all over the river, the water in the rafts turned turbid yellow. Currently, Mr. Hoai's fish raft is smelly.
He estimated the number of dead fish to be about 4-5 tons, with initial damage of about 300 - 350 million VND. Notably, the number of remaining fish in the raft is also in a weak state.

Also in Phu Nhon hamlet, Mr. Bui Van Vu's household recorded more than 10 tons of dead fish, causing damage equivalent to 350 million VND. Mr. Vu himself also wondered: "This has never happened to fish farming before. Although the farming process has been lost, only about 5 - 7kg, and now all have died".
Not only in Chau Thanh commune, in Ben Ba canal in Phu Tan area (Hung Phu ward), many carp also died simultaneously this morning.
According to records, the common situation that cage fish farming households encountered was last evening, when the net water discovered dark water, the fish showed signs of weakness, and began to float on the water surface.

Mr. Tran Hoang Dung - Head of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control of Can Tho City - said that the unit had grasped the information of the incident; sent professional staff, coordinated with the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the City to find out the cause and propose solutions.
While waiting for the results of determining the cause from the authorities, the agricultural promotion forces of Chau Thanh commune and Hung Phu ward are actively supporting farming households to collect dead fish to have a way to handle them, avoiding the situation of releasing dead fish into the river, affecting the environment.
