Lang Son - After the merger, the wards and communes of Cao Loc district and Lang Son city have a series of new names.

On April 21, according to Lao Dong's source, according to the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units in 2025 developed by Lang Son City People's Committee, 4 new administrative units will be established from the merger of existing wards and communes.

The new Tam Thanh ward was established on the basis of merging Tam Thanh ward and Hoang Dong commune, with an area of 27.35km2 and a population of 30,301 people. The administrative center is located in Hoang Dong commune.

The new Chi Lang ward was formed from the merger of Chi Lang ward and Quang Lac commune, with an area of 31.76km2 and a population of 23,136 people. The administrative center is located in Chi Lang ward.

The new Hoang Van Thu ward was merged from 5 units including Hoang Van Thu ward (Lang Son city), Cao Loc town, Hop Thanh, Gia Cat, Tan Lien communes (Cao Loc district). This unit has an area of 61.70km2, a population of 41,624 people, and the administrative center is expected to be located in Cao Loc town.

The new Dong Kinh ward was established from 4 units including Dong Kinh ward, Vinh Trai ward, Mai Pha commune (Lang Son city) and Yen Trach commune (Cao Loc district), with an area of 54.71km2 and a population of 50,436 people. The administrative center is located in Vinh Trai ward.

Along with that, in Cao Loc district, the People's Committee of the district has completed the Project to arrange 14 commune-level administrative units, and coordinated with Lang Son city and Van Quan district to reorganize a number of inter-district communes.

Accordingly, the newly established units include Dong Dang commune, merging Hong Phong commune, Phu Xa, Thuy Hung, Bao Lam and Dong Dang town. Area of 91.57km2, population of 24,976 people. The center is located in Dong Dang town.

Cao Loc 1 commune, merges Thanh Loa, Loc Yen, Thach Dan communes. Area of 103.86km2, population of 6,920 people. The center is located in Thanh Loa commune.

Cao Loc 2 commune merges Hai Yen, Cong Son, Hoa Cu communes. Area of 84.74km2, population of 6,506 people. The center is located in Hai Yen commune.

Cao Loc 3 commune was established from the communes of Cao Lau, Xuat Le, Mau Son. Area of 154.96 km2, population of 10,416 people. Administrative center in Xuat Le commune.

Khanh Khe commune includes Khanh Khe commune (Van Quan district) and 2 communes Xuan Long, Binh Trung (Cao Loc district). Area of 93.64km2, population of 13,373 people. The center is located in Khanh Khe commune.

Tan Doan commune includes Tan Thanh commune (Cao Loc), Trang Phai commune and Tan Doan commune (Van Quan). Area of 100.41km2, population of 10,589 people. The center is located in Trang Phai.

According to the assessment of the authorities, the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units in Lang Son is an important step to concretize the policies of the Party and State, in line with reality and meeting the requirements of sustainable development.

New administrative units with larger population and area will create favorable conditions for management and operation, thereby improving the operational efficiency of the political system at the grassroots level.
