Nghe An - After many days and nights of efforts to level mud, the only National Highway 7 route to the flooded communes in the western part of the province has just been reopened.

On the morning of July 26, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vo Van Bay - Deputy Director of Joint Stock Company 495, the unit responsible for maintaining National Highway 7 said that after deploying machinery and human resources to level mud for many days and nights, at 10:24 p.m. on the night of July 25, the Company has cleared National Highway 7, temporarily ensuring traffic.

However, according to Mr. Bay, the clearance is only temporary in a narrow area of the road. Currently, the volume of mud and soil is still very large, the unit still has to continue using excavators and using cars to dump on the vacant land to clean up this National Highway.

The expected cleaning time, ensuring the most favorable smooth operation, will take a few weeks or even a month to complete.

Thus, after the flood on the night of July 22-23, National Highway 7 was flooded, mud and soil were filled, causing traffic jams at dozens of locations in a length of nearly 150km from Con Cuong commune to Muong Xen commune. It has been 4 days since the temporary route was opened.
