The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued an official dispatch on studying and considering the resolution of the proposal of Masterise Group Joint Stock Company.
Official dispatch sent to the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Finance; and Masterise Group Joint Stock Company.
Accordingly, on July 18, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee received a Document from Masterise Group Joint Stock Company on surveying temporary material mines and inland waterway wharves along the Duong River to transport common construction materials to serve the construction of the Gia Binh International Airport project, Bac Ninh province.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to organize working sessions to study, consider and resolve the contents of the proposal of Masterise Group Joint Stock Company in the above document; the results of reporting and proposing to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee before July 28, 2025.
According to the reporter's research, the Ministry of Construction has just issued a Decision approving the adjustment of the Master Plan for the development of the national airport system for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, with Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh) and Noi Bai airport (Hanoi).
According to the decision, Gia Binh International Airport is added to the National Airport System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Gia Binh airport is located in Bac Ninh province with an airport scale of 4E.
The designed capacity is expected to be about 30 million passengers/year in the period of 2021 - 2030; with a vision to 2050, the expected capacity is about 50 million passengers/year.
The expected land area is about 1,960 hectares. The estimated investment cost according to the planning is about 120,839 billion VND for the period 2021 - 2030, about 61,455 billion VND with a vision to 2050.
With this area, Gia Binh airport is expected to be the largest airport outside Noi Bai airport and Tan Son airport (about 1,500 hectares), second only to Long Thanh airport (5,000 hectares).
Along with increasing the capacity of Gia Binh airport, the Ministry of Construction adjusted to reduce the capacity of Noi Bai airport.
