On July 23, according to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province, from 4:00 p.m. on July 22 to 10:30 a.m. on July 23, 2025, rain and thunderstorms injured 17 people, collapsed 44 houses and blown off the roofs of 243 houses in the area.
Ba Sao commune had 8 injured people, My Ngai ward had 9 injured people.
In addition, 44 houses collapsed in Dong Thap province. Of which, Ba Sao commune has 30 houses, Thap Muoi commune has 1 house and My Ngai ward has 13 houses.
In addition, the whole province had 243 houses with unroofed roofs. Of which, Thanh My commune has 9 houses, Doc Binh Kieu commune has 12 houses, Tan Phu commune has 1 house, Ba Sao commune has 124 houses, Thap Muoi commune has 2 houses and My Ngai ward has 95 houses.
Immediately after the incident, the People's Committees of Thanh My, Doc Binh Kieu, Tan Phu, Ba Sao, Thap Muoi communes and My Ngai ward deployed measures, mobilizing forces to support people in repairing houses damaged by thunderstorms; at the same time, pruning fallen trees along the road to ensure convenient traffic for people.
Currently, the People's Committees of communes and wards are continuing to organize verification, statistics and prepare records to support damage according to regulations.
