On October 30, Mr. Phan Huu Tinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Thuy Commune (Le Thuy District) said that more than 13,000 chickens of households in the area died on October 27. Local authorities and families have collected and processed them.
Previously, on the evening of October 27, a flash flood occurred in the commune that lasted for about 3 hours. The flood came so quickly that livestock farmers did not have time to save their livestock and poultry.
According to preliminary calculations, more than 13,000 chickens raised on farms in the commune died, dozens of pigs and other poultry were also swept away by the flood.
Many families are worried as poultry is their main source of income and has taken a lot of effort to care for over the past months.
In the immediate future, the commune government has allocated a portion of the budget to visit and encourage livestock households that suffered heavy losses due to the flood.
