According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hung Yen province, at around noon on July 22, after storm No. 3 swept through the area, many areas in the province recorded heavy to very heavy rain, accompanied by gusts of wind of level 89. The total rainfall in the North of the province is generally from 4080mm, while the South recorded heavier rainfall from 100200mm.


Although there were no human casualties, storm No. 3 greatly affected agricultural infrastructure and people's lives in the province. One of the notable incidents was the overflow of embankments at the Cu La canal, Hong Vu commune - (located outside the Ta Hong Ha II dike).
According to the confirmation of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hung Yen province, this was not a dike breach, but a phenomenon of overflow at the approach canal. Some embankment locations in river mouths, coastal areas, low-lying areas of Red River mouths, Tra Ly River and riverside alluvial areas were overflowed; including the incident of Cu La canal embankment overflow with a total length of 80m. The above incident occurred on the bank of the canal, not the Hong Ha II dyke and dyke.
In addition, the Department has also sent a quick report to the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) to coordinate in monitoring, evaluating the overall status of the embankment and proposing response solutions in the coming time.
