Ca Mau has had rain for many consecutive days, right at the time of rice harvest, causing many farmers to worry.

In the face of complicated weather developments, on September 2, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to direct its affiliated units to coordinate with local authorities to operate the sewer, dam, and pumping station system reasonably and effectively to drain water, protect production; regularly inspect, promptly detect, direct the handling and reinforcement of landslides and areas at risk of landslides to prevent damage; strengthen recommendations and instructions for people to reinforce embankments, prevent overflow, avoid loss of aquaculture products, crops and harvest, and preserve summer-autumn rice in wind and rain conditions. Urgently design a model to monitor the detailed harvest of summer-autumn rice in online form (harvest area, output, progress, difficulties, support needs, recommendations, ...), to synthesize daily reports from communes and wards, promptly advise and propose the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and direction.

The People's Committees of communes and wards continue to strengthen inspections of areas, instruct people on measures to limit damage to crops, livestock, and aquaculture; proactively organize visits, encourage, and mobilize forces to help people overcome damage, effectively and promptly use resources to overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to regulations; establish correct and complete dossiers to request support for production recovery due to natural disasters (for eligible cases), promptly report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for review and proposal to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

Urgently review the summer-autumn rice area up to harvest time, the demand for mixed harvesters, workers and traders consuming rice in each specific area, thereby regulating means, workers, traders harvesting and purchasing rice; if necessary, mobilize militia and self-defense forces, union members and association members to support people in harvesting, preserving and consuming rice areas in a timely manner up to harvest time, minimizing damage.

Currently, Ca Mau still has over 40,000 rice in the harvest season that falls right at the rainy time. Taking advantage of this, traders force farmers to lower rice prices in many places.

According to information from the Ca Mau Province Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of the tropical depression operating in the sea area southeast of Hoang Sa province, the weather in the province has scattered showers and thunderstorms, many places have moderate rain, heavy rain, during thunderstorms, beware of strong gusts of wind, lightning and tornadoes.
