People use rafts to cross the deeply flooded section on National Highway 12B through Phu Tho

Phu Tho - Heavy rain caused National Highway 12B through Lac Son commune to be deeply flooded, and authorities and people built rafts to support vehicles moving.

According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, at km 62, National Highway 12B, the section passing through Lam Hoa, Lac Son Commune, Phu Tho Province, prolonged heavy rain caused the road to be flooded about 1m deep, the flooded road was 50m long.

Trucks and 7-seat vehicles or more can still travel, but low-chassis vehicles and motorbikes have difficulty moving through this area.

Immediately after the heavy rain occurred, the authorities and local people promptly organized rafts and diverted water to support small vehicles to overcome the flooded area, limit congestion and ensure safety.

On the evening of September 29, speaking with reporters, Mr. Bui Van Khanh - Chairman of Lac Son Commune People's Committee - said that this road section is often flooded during prolonged heavy rains.

"The commune has repeatedly proposed to the province to study the plan to upgrade National Highway 12B through Lam Hoa. However, implementation is difficult because the route is located in a narrow stream, adjacent to the Buoi River," Mr. Khanh informed.

According to Mr. Khanh, at around 9pm the same day, the authorities were still on duty, supporting people through the flooded area. After the rain stopped for about 1 hour, the water receded, and vehicles were expected to move normally.

Currently, local authorities continue to monitor and warn about flooding to ensure safety for people and vehicles passing through.
