Quang Tri - Prolonged heavy rain caused many low-lying areas in Quang Trach commune to be deeply flooded, people had to use tractors with additional boxes to transport rice to avoid floods.

On October 31, the People's Committee of Quang Trach commune (Quang Tri) said that in recent days, there has been continuous heavy rain in the area, water from upstream has caused many villages to be heavily flooded.

The water began to rise rapidly from the evening of October 30, in some places it was 0.3 - 0.7m deep, affecting houses and property.

From early morning, the militia and youth union members worked with the people to move furniture, especially rice, to avoid water from flooding in. In Thanh Luong village, many families had to mobilize both adults and children in their homes to move bags of rice from the warehouse to higher ground.

A resident in the village said that the water rose rapidly, and overnight the road was flooded. From early morning, people had to wake up to move, using tractors to attach the rice box to transport the rice to higher ground.

To promptly respond, the commune government has deployed forces to be on duty in vulnerable areas, supporting people in moving assets and livestock.

"We recommend that people do not go to the fields when the water is still rising, and prepare food, flashlights, and life jackets to prevent rising water," said a representative of the People's Committee of Quang Trach commune.
