On May 24, 2026, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 924/QD-TTg promulgating a plan to implement activities to respond to the All People's Day for Saving and Combating Wastefulness in 2026.
According to the plan, the 2026 All People's Day for Saving and Combating Wastefulness is organized with the theme "Energy saving, future prosperity".
Responding activities are aimed at promoting propaganda, affirming the position and role of the culture of thrift and combating wastefulness in state management and social life. At the same time, disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and legal regulations on practicing thrift and combating wastefulness, especially in using energy economically and efficiently.
One of the key contents is to launch movements and contests to receive and spread initiatives and solutions on thrift and anti-wastefulness. In which, priority is given to models and initiatives for using energy economically and efficiently in agencies, businesses and the community.
The plan also sets out requirements to commend and reward collectives and individuals with typical achievements, initiatives, and effective solutions in thrift and waste prevention.
The Prime Minister requested ministries, ministerial-level agencies and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to proactively organize response activities in specific, diverse, and rich forms. Propaganda is carried out directly in the community, on official media channels and social networking platforms.
The Ministry of Finance is assigned to monitor, guide, inspect, and urge the implementation; summarize and report to the Prime Minister on the implementation results. The Ministry of Industry and Trade presides over the implementation of activities in response to energy saving content.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism guides the organization of a culture of thrift and anti-wastefulness movement in ministries, branches, and localities.
The Ministry of Science and Technology directs telecommunications businesses to participate in propaganda to service users through texting on May 31, 2026, with a message calling on the entire population to respond for a prosperous future, a green and positive lifestyle.
