On the afternoon of November 17, two landslides occurred on the East bank of the Hau River, in Vinh Phuoc Hamlet, Phu Huu Commune, An Giang Province, affecting 13 houses and forcing them to be urgently evacuated.

According to the report of Phu Huu Commune People's Committee, at about 2:30 p.m. the same day, two landslides appeared in the area. The first location is about 30m downstream from Vinh Loc Communal House, about 150m long, eating 3 to 6m inland. The second location is right at Vinh Loc Communal House, about 20m long, about 4m inland.


As a result, 13 houses were affected, of which 4 houses completely collapsed into the river, 1 house was partially collapsed, the remaining 8 houses had to be urgently relocated. The initial estimated damage was more than 300 million VND, fortunately there were no casualties.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tam - a resident of Vinh Phuoc hamlet, said that when he discovered a whirlwind and cracked ground behind his house, he shouted everyone to move and move his belongings together. Less than 20 minutes later, the house collapsed and sank into the river, he only had time to move some necessary items.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities mobilized forces to support people in evacuating their assets, while installing fences and warning signs of danger to ensure the safety of life and property.
