On June 9, information from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that it had just issued a plan to handle direct investment projects of enterprises that have been approved for investment policies and land leases but have not put the land into use or are behind schedule, violating land laws.

Accordingly, Thanh Hoa province will review and inspect 55 projects under the above scope and develop a roadmap for final handling. Projects that do not comply with the requirements will have their land reclaimed.
The plan is implemented according to the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in Official Dispatch No. 2072 dated February 18, 2025 and related directives of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
The content of the plan requires relevant departments, branches and localities to review and compile statistics on all violating projects; clarify difficulties, obstacles and causes of delays; thereby proposing specific handling measures for each project in accordance with the provisions of law.
The units assigned the task must develop a detailed plan, clearly defining the work, progress, completion time and implementation solutions; at the same time, report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee before June 30, 2025, and send it to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for synthesis.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to monitor and urge implementation, periodically report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on implementation results.
The strong handling of "land-holding and abandoned" projects is expected to contribute to rectifying land waste, creating clean land funds for capable investors, and truly putting the project into effective operation.
