On December 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units to conduct a field inspection in the landslide area of the sea dyke, part of The Maris project (Rach Dua ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a section of the project's sea embankment had landslides. The project investor has reinforced and reported to the authorities of Rach Dua ward and Phuoc Thang ward. These units have also conducted a preliminary assessment inspection and reported to the Department of Construction for comments.
At the meeting, the investor of The Maris project said that the construction process of the adjacent The Blanca City project has leveled the sand hills, changing the terrain, but did not take measures to block waves and protect the coast, leading to landslides and subsidence of the sea dyke.
The investor of The Blanca City project said that the construction was carried out in accordance with the approved plan. This unit also did not obstruct The Maris project to reinforce landslides and subsidence of sea dykes. At the same time, it is required to quickly fix the problem to ensure safety and return the project site.
The authorities have recorded the phenomenon of landslides on the walls and banks of The Maris project. Request the investors of the two projects to coordinate in determining the cause and agree on the solution of the landslide incident; provide documents related to the leveling item of The Blanca City and the design of the sea dike item of The Maris.
In addition, the investor The Maris needs to hire an independent unit with the function of inspecting, checking and assessing the incident to have a plan to propose handling. At the same time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment reviewed whether leveling the sand hills should be implemented according to the approved decision.
