Spreading touching stories from the Da Nang medical industry

Da Nang - Stories about liver transplantation, saving people in the midst of floods, fighting for life in a flash are emotionally recreated in the night of gratitude to the medical industry.

On the evening of February 27, the 5th Da Nang City Health sector gratitude program - 2026 with the theme "White shirts of peace - Warm smiles" took place in a warm and touching atmosphere.

The program is co-organized by the Central Regional Resident Office - Voice of Vietnam (VOV Central Region), Vietnam Television Center for Central - Central Highlands Region (VTV8) and Vietnam News Agency Information Center for Central - Central Highlands Region.

This is the 5th year the program has been organized, and also the first time expanding its scale after merging Da Nang and Quang Nam, with the participation of more than 200 doctors and physicians, city leaders and central agencies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, journalist Pham Tan Tu - Director of VOV Central Region, Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized that the 5-year journey of the program is the companionship of the press in recording and spreading real-life stories of the medical industry.

The highlight of the gratitude night is a series of short reports recreating the outstanding imprints of the health sector in 2025: successfully performing the first liver transplant from a living donor at Da Nang Hospital; saving a circulatory arrest patient at a mountainous hospital; responding to and protecting patients amidst the historic flood; tireless steps of preventive medicine forces after natural disasters.

At the program, representatives of 6 typical collectives of Da Nang Health sector including: Da Nang Hospital; Da Nang Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Quang Nam Regional General Hospital; Tra Tap Commune Health Station; Tra Tan Commune Health Station; North Quang Nam Mountainous General Hospital, were honored and presented souvenirs. Many touching stories from doctors and patients were shared directly on stage, spreading messages about medical ethics, compassion and the desire to contribute.

BS CKII Tran Thanh Thuy - Director of Da Nang City Department of Health - said that the city's health sector is entering a new phase with many opportunities and challenges, especially after receiving Viet - Han Da Nang Hospital, aiming to build Da Nang into a specialized medical center of the Central - Central Highlands region.
