Quang Binh Trade Union brings shelter to disadvantaged families

CÔNG SÁNG |

In recent times, the Trade Unions at all levels of Quang Binh province have actively coordinated with local authorities and people to implement a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the area.

Practical support

At the end of March 2025, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with relevant units to support 24 temporary and dilapidated houses for households in difficult circumstances in Minh Hoa district. Each household is supported with 5 million VND, although the amount is not too large, it is very practical for the poor in remote areas - where life is still lacking.

Ms. Dinh Thi Bong (Quy Dat town, Minh Hoa district), one of the households receiving support, shared: "My house is dilapidated, the roof is leaky on all sides. When I received the support money from the Union, I used it to buy more materials and asked the neighbors to help repair the roof. Now I feel more secure when the rainy season comes.

Similarly, in early March 2025, the Dong Hoi City Labor Federation joined hands with the Tuyen Hoa District Labor Federation to provide support to many households in Lam Hoa commune - a mountainous area with many difficulties.

Union officials not only gave money but also directly to each household, surveyed the housing situation, and mobilized more resources from the community to promptly support emergency cases.

methodical orientation, clear responsibility

Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a movement, but has become an important socio-political task that Quang Binh province focuses on implementing strongly. In particular, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor is one of the units that took early action, proactively developing plans, directing the affiliated trade unions at all levels to implement them synchronously and flexibly depending on the conditions of each locality.

Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor - said: "We have identified this as a program of great significance, not only improving housing for people but also improving spiritual life, creating trust in the attention of the Trade Union organization. With the motto "No one is left behind", the Trade Union will continue to accompany the people, mobilize more social resources to expand the scale of support".

Not only providing financial support, the Trade Union force also plays a bridging role, mobilizing union members and workers to contribute working days, materials, and even directly participate in repairing houses for people.

The union's activities have created a positive effect in society, strongly aroused the spirit of "good leaves to protect torn leaves". Many businesses and individuals are also kind to join hands to accompany the program through the channel of the Trade Union organization.

The goal set by Quang Binh province is to eliminate 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province by September 2025. "Not only is it about repairing houses, we want to light up hope and faith in life for those in difficulty. That is also the mission of the Trade Union organization in the new period - Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan emphasized.
