Workers stay with the company thanks to good benefits

In Ho Chi Minh City, many businesses have stable labor because they have good welfare policies for workers.

Get loans, salary advances to buy land, build houses

Mr. Ha is from Thanh Hoa, came to the South to start a business, worked for Kim Thap Construction Mechanical Joint Stock Company (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) for more than ten years, but still had to rent a house. After many years of saving, accumulating, and borrowing from relatives and acquaintances, he and his wife decided to buy 60 square meters of land in Di An District to build a house, but still lacked a little money. Because the company had a policy of allowing employees to advance their salary to buy land and build a house, in August 2024, he applied for an advance of 50 million VND of his salary to add to the land purchase.

“Thanks to the advance payment, my family has enough money to buy land. It is expected that by the end of the year, we will have finished building a house to live in. After many years of renting, my family will finally have our own house,” Mr. Ha said excitedly.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - President of the Trade Union of Kim Thap Company - said that the company has many benefits for employees such as 100% support for employees to study to improve their professional qualifications, foreign languages, and management; employees who have accidents or are sick are visited by the company; employees receive salary increases twice a year and receive a 13th month salary based on an average net salary of about 13 million VND/person, and are supported with 1 million VND/person/month for accommodation.

In particular, the company has a policy of lending money or salary advances to long-term employees to buy land, build houses or buy houses to stabilize their lives. Therefore, for many years, the labor force at the company has always been stable, with little fluctuation.

Stick with the company because of good benefits

At Saigon Pure Water Company Limited (Sapuwa), in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, there are also many benefits for employees such as: Annual salary increase of 5%-10% per level, receiving an average 13th month salary of 8.4 million VND/person, being organized by the company for domestic and international tours; the company supports accommodation costs for employees in difficult circumstances, supports monthly travel costs of 3 million VND/person and buys 24/24 hour accident insurance...

Sapuwa Company also has a policy of supporting female employees with 1 million VND per month for 1 year from the time of pregnancy. Ms. Phan Thi Bich Hao, who has worked for Sapuwa Company since 2015, has received a total of 24 million VND for her two pregnancies and childbirths. Ms. Hao happily said: “The support money helps me have more money for prenatal checkups and to buy extra food. Although the amount is not large, it shows the company's board of directors' concern for employees, so I am very happy and always want to stay with the company.”

In particular, Sapuwa Company also has a regulation to honor and give gifts to male workers twice a year on April 8 and September 20. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - President of Sapuwa Company's Trade Union - said that in addition to general benefits, female workers are honored and given gifts on March 8 and October 20, so the company's board of directors also honors and gives gifts to male workers twice a year to create a happy atmosphere and encourage the spirit of the brothers.

Mr. Pham Chi Tam - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that in recent years, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union has always cared for union members and workers. One of those policies is to direct grassroots unions to negotiate and sign collective labor agreements (CLAs) with many provisions beneficial to workers and to implement democracy well at the grassroots level. The results show that there are more and more CLAs reaching type A (according to the classification of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) with many provisions beneficial to workers such as: Enterprises increase salaries for workers 1-2 times a year, workers receive 13th month salary bonuses, are supported by enterprises for accommodation, travel, and childcare, are rewarded for initiatives, and are able to buy 24/24 hour accident insurance, etc.

In addition, many enterprises also care for the material and spiritual life of employees through welfare. Thanks to the care and concern of enterprises and the efforts of the trade union organization through signing collective labor agreements, union members and employees enjoy more benefits and labor relations in enterprises are also harmonious and stable.
