Modernizing to get closer to union members
Implementing the digital transformation policy in trade union activities, in recent times, the Quang Trach District Labor Federation - one of the units of Quang Binh province has proactively deployed many solutions to synchronously apply information technology.
Determining that digital transformation is not only a requirement of the times but also an opportunity to improve the capacity of the Trade Union organization, the District Labor Federation has stepped up propaganda about the importance of digital technology to each union member. Thereby, raising awareness and encouraging cadres and union members to actively participate in using digital tools, from electronic identification, digital certificates to regular interaction via social networks.
Many grassroots trade unions have formed their own Facebook pages to share information, reflect activities and receive opinions from workers. Each directive document, each action program of the Provincial and District Labor Federations is quickly transmitted through the Zalo, Fanpage, QR Code system, replacing traditional methods such as printing and photocopying.
At district Labor Federation conferences, instead of distributing paper documents, delegates only need to scan the QR code to download the entire document, helping to save costs, time and improve information processing efficiency.
Strong innovations from the district level have spread to each grassroots union. A typical example is the Canh Duong Commune Trade Union - where conference documents are sent via Zalo.
Not only stopping at digitizing documents or applying union member management software, many grassroots unions have also initially accessed and used artificial intelligence (AI) tools to serve communication work, organize movements, and develop union members.
Organizing a training conference on artificial intelligence
In order to help union officials get more involved in the digital technology era, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor recently organized a training conference on " applying artificial intelligence in union activities" with the participation of 60 full-time union officials in the whole province.
The trainees were equipped with 5 practical topics presented by Dr. Nguyen Van Loc - lecturer at the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). The content does not stop at theory, but also delves into the skills of using AI to analyze union member needs, personalize experiences, support union member management, draft documents and automate communication.
In particular, the practical section has helped students directly access platforms such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI... to create propaganda content, reports, minutes, and action plans in a short time, ensuring both speed and quality.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed that digital transformation, especially mastering AI technology, is the key for union cadres to innovate their thinking, improve their management capacity, shorten work processing time, and promote creativity in activities at the grassroots level.
Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan affirmed that in the coming time, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to invest in training and supporting digital technology transfer, especially focusing on building a shared digital platform and a unified digital data system from the province to the grassroots.
Not only a tool, digital transformation is becoming a new - modern way of organizing Trade Unions, closer to union members and workers. In which, each union cadre will be a "digital core", leading change in the digital era.
