The Cargo Transit Area Project in Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone is built on a land area of 143.7 hectares, located in Thuy Hung and Phu Xa communes, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province.
To the North, the project borders National Highway 1B; to the South, it borders Na Pai village; to the East, it borders National Highway 1A; to the West, it borders Hanoi - Dong Dang railway and Thuy Hung stream.
With a total investment of more than 3,200 billion VND, the project is invested by HJC Construction Investment Group as the main investor.
The project includes transit and logistics services such as: Regular container yard and refrigerated container yard; Bulk cargo warehouse, cold storage; Import-export support services; Bonded warehouse, temporary import and re-export storage; Customs inspection and storage area; Vietnam - China vehicle transit yard.
In addition, the project also has other value-added services such as: Container repair workshop, car repair, car wash, gas station; Classification, packaging, labeling of goods; Food processing and canning, small production; Hotels and accommodation, restaurants, entertainment; Office for rent: banks, logistics companies, supermarkets...; Product display; Goods exhibition; Railway station warehouse.
The project is under construction in phase 1 with an area of about 58 hectares, with main items including: Centralized Customs Center; Cargo transit service area; Yard system; Construction system; Driver rest area and auxiliary works.
Cargo transit service area with full services such as: Car waiting area, parking lot, container yard, mechanical workshop, central warehouses, X-ray machines, weighing station, car wash bridge and concrete yard, car weighing station, restaurant, supermarket, gas station...
According to the project's design capacity in phase 1, from 2020 it is estimated to reach about 336,907 vehicles/year (about 930 vehicles/day), by 2030 it will reach about 561,240 vehicles/year (about 1,530 vehicles/day).
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Manh Thuan - Deputy General Director of Lang Son Transit Area Joint Stock Company - said that up to now, phase 1 of the project has been 90% completed.
The project is expected to be operational in December 2024.
"The project will help shorten customs clearance time, inspect import and export goods and promote the development of logistics services and related services, facilitating import and export activities of goods between Vietnam and China," said a business representative.
According to PV's research, in recent years, Vietnam's agricultural products and fruits exported to China through Lang Son account for about 80% of the total export turnover value of goods.
Speaking to reporters, the leader of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that in the first 9 months of the year, import-export turnover through the province reached 47.4 billion USD, an increase of 29% over the same period.
