Preparing for the new school year 2025 - 2026, the Lao Cai Education sector has reviewed and supported parents in completing the admission procedures for their children after implementing the two-level local government.

Key political tasks in the early stages of integration

To facilitate students transferring schools after the merger of Lao Cai - Yen Bai province and the two-level local government organization, the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province is proactively implementing solutions to receive students, ensuring smooth operating conditions in the new school year.

Based on the registration list, the Department of Education and Training has reviewed and prepared the necessary conditions, arranged and allocated students to study to ensure that they are suitable for resources and aspirations; at the same time, supported parents to carry out admission procedures for their children conveniently and promptly, simplified administrative procedures, saved time and travel for students and parents in contacting and carrying out admission procedures.

Schools receive documents and handle transfer procedures for students as soon as they receive requests from parents and guardians, especially priorities before the opening of the 2025-2026 school year and the beginning of semester I, the 2025-2026 school year to ensure stable learning for students.

Schools have reviewed facilities, the number of students that can be received, the number of classes that can be increased, the number of teachers is lacking and the number of tables and chairs that need to be supplemented, thereby making timely recommendations and proposals to build more, upgrade, repair, and ensure the implementation of tasks right at the beginning of the new school year.

According to Mr. Dao Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province, implementing local government at two levels will have changes in State management of education, especially after the merger of provinces with many parents transferred to the provincial center, raising issues on arrangement, arrangement of facilities, teaching staff, and procedures for receiving students.

Based on the guidance documents of the Ministry and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee as well as practical requirements, the education sector will continue to provide timely advice on education management, ensuring that there are no gaps or interruptions in tasks.

"We identify this as a key political task in the early stages of the consolidation period" - Mr. Dao Anh Tuan emphasized.

Proposal to supplement the budget to upgrade some temporary classrooms

As of the end of July, the Education sector has received 45 students out of a total of 282 students registered to transfer in the first phase, of which primary school has received 22 students, secondary school has received 16 students and high school has received 7 students.

Although the acceptance rate is still lower than expected, schools in Yen Bai ward - where many students are transferred - have proactively arranged personnel and facilities to be ready to welcome new students.

Nguyen Trai Primary School has received 10 students out of a total of 127 primary school students who wish to transfer, and is also the school with the highest number of students transferred among primary school institutions.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Lan - Principal of Nguyen Trai Primary School said: "Immediately after the merger policy was issued, the school reviewed the number of classrooms and rearranged the number of students in each class to ensure that each class was not overloaded. For students transferred, we will create conditions to receive them as soon as they have their application, and will also send homeroom teachers to support them in getting used to the new learning environment.

Quang Trung Secondary School has received 8 transferred students, the atmosphere of preparation for the new school year is also taking place urgently.

"We have arranged an additional backup class, ready to open a new class if the number of students transferred increases. In addition, the school also closely coordinates with parents to stabilize their psychology when entering the new learning environment" - Ms. Dang Thu Ha, principal of the school shared.

Not only focusing on location, the education sector also focuses on the team of teachers, teaching equipment and supporting equipment. The Department of Education has directed communes and wards to flexibly transfer teachers in areas that are not overloaded to places with shortages, and at the same time proposed to supplement the budget to upgrade some temporary classrooms.

Currently, schools in mountainous areas are organizing general school cleaning, taking care of trees, creating a friendly, clean - beautiful - safe landscape. Along with that, schools will develop a professional plan according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Department of Education and Training, prepare complete documents, papers, and books for teaching work to ensure compliance with the 2018 General Education Program...
