In September and October 2025, Vietnam will face many consecutive serious natural disasters, including storms No. 8, No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11, along with widespread heavy floods.
Typhoon No. 8 Mitag and Typhoon No. 9 Ragasa made landfall in the Central and Northern regions, causing damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
Then, storm No. 10 Bualoi made landfall in Nghe An and Ha Tinh on September 28-29, causing heavy damage.
Before the floodwaters receded, storm No. 11 Matmo continued to affect the northern provinces, causing the river water level to exceed the warning level and causing serious flooding in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen.
The Japanese government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has decided to transfer emergency relief goods to affected areas.

Items under the Japan Emergency Disaster Relief Program (JDR) include water filtration equipment, blankets, multi-functional plastic sheets and plastic cans, to help people overcome the consequences and soon stabilize their lives.
The relief goods were transferred from JICA's warehouse and arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on October 13, 2025. The handover ceremony took place on the same day with the participation of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (VDDMA), Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
VDDMA has officially received and will coordinate the distribution of relief goods to Bac Ninh province - a locality that suffered heavy damage due to floods.

Mr. Kobayashi Yosuke, Chief Representative of the JICA Office in Vietnam, said that JICA is committed to supporting the Vietnamese people in difficult times, and expressed hope that the relief goods will soon reach the affected people to help them stabilize their lives.
The emergency assistance from Japan demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and strong partnership between the two countries in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
