The commune-level police chief is assigned a number of additional duties and powers. The Ministry has directed the Public Security of units and localities to arrange the team of Commune-level Police Chiefs based on reviewing the overall assessment results of the staff, reviewing and comparing the leadership team at the same level to select comrades who are assessed as cadres with more capacity, qualities, qualifications, prestige, experience, strengths, results, and outstanding work achievements.
According to Major General Pham Quang Tuyen, the Ministry of Public Security continues to request the Public Security of units and localities to strictly implement the Ministry's regulations on implementing violation prevention work, continuing to tighten discipline and strengthen officer management according to Directive No. 04 dated May 26, 2022 of the Ministry of Public Security.
After not arranging the District Police, in principle, any level Police that is able to perform their functions and tasks well will be assigned to that level to ensure compliance with the provisions of law, favorable for people and businesses.
Accordingly, the provincial police will comprehensively resolve all security and order situations in the locality; the commune-level police will ensure security and order at the grassroots level, directly handling many administrative procedures for people and businesses.
Providing more information on this content, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security - stated: Regarding the non-organization of district-level police, all 53 functions and tasks of district-level police will have a number of functions and tasks handed over to the provincial police.
