The total resources mobilized to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses have exceeded VND17,802 billion and each day, each province needs to complete 26 houses to reach the finish line on time.

On July 9, at the 6th meeting of the Central Steering Committee on implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nong Thi Ha informed that by July 8, 18/34 localities had completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for all three groups of subjects.

The three target groups include: people with revolutionary contributions, households receiving housing support under two national target programs (NTPs) and poor and near-poor households benefiting from the national launch program.

Since the 5th meeting of the Central Steering Committee, 7 more localities (before the merger) have completed the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the registered plan, including: Lai Chau, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Dong Thap and Bac Giang.

However, the remaining workload from now until August 31 is still large. The whole country needs to continue to eliminate 25,232 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 18,799 are under construction and 6,433 have not yet started construction.

To complete the target on time, each locality needs to implement about 26 apartments per day, including about 7 newly started apartments and 19 completed apartments for handover.

This is a "sprint" period, requiring localities to mobilize maximum resources, speed up construction progress and strengthen coordination between levels and sectors to ensure the completion of the entire plan within the remaining very short time frame.

Regarding the funding to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Thi Ha said that up to now, the total resources mobilized for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide have exceeded VND 17,802 billion, including funding from the central budget, local budgets and socialization campaigns.

In particular, the program has attracted the cooperation of the community with more than 113.4 thousand participants, contributing a total of over 1 million working days - a figure that demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and high determination in the whole society.

In particular, the support fund from the 5% savings source for regular state budget expenditures in 2024, on June 28, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1403/QD-TTg, adjusting the allocation of VND 975,146 million to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 28 localities.

Up to now, the total budget from the source of 5% has been allocated to localities implementing the program up to 4,557,773 million VND.

According to the proposed plan, 14 out of 34 localities will be supported with a total cost of up to 389,218 million VND.

Of which: From the Central Fund for the Poor is 82,487 million VND; from the mobilized source of the launch program is 306,731 million VND...

The flexible and timely allocation of these resources creates conditions for localities to accelerate and ensure the timely completion of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses - one of the key social security goals of the country in 2025.
